This older house suffered from lack of daylight.  Two of the most frequently used spaces, a dining room and a small living room, were unacceptably dark.  Some large trees were contributing to the shadows but the owner didn’t want to remove them.  The solution was to reach outward and upward to gather more sunlight and sky brightness.  The Sunroom addition managed to do that and add a bit of extra elbow room to those spaces as well as create an inviting entry for everyday use.
